From production systems to smart buildings, automation is thriving and in need of professionals to conceive, implement and monitor more and more complex systems. You wish to specialise in industrial systems? The professional bachelor’s in Automated Systems, Networks and Industrial Computing specialised in Conception and Monitoring of Industrial Computing is made for you!

This one-year programme is available both in full-time and work-study education. It trains you to become a technical executive in conception, lead and maintenance of automated systems and industrial networks. Thanks to the theoretical and practical courses of the bachelor’s, you will be able to work in the industry directly after graduating.

Courses

  • Take place on site in the Campus 2 of the University of Caen Normandy
  • Amount to 490 hours a year
  • Are completed by a compulsory internship or apprenticeship

Course units

The professional bachelor’s in Automated Systems, Networks and Industrial Computing mostly provides courses in conception and monitoring of industrial computing:

You will also attend courses to develop transferrable skills, such as:

Internships and placements

The master’s programme includes one compulsory internship (or apprenticeship), in a company or a laboratory, in France or abroad. The professional experience lasts 12 to 16 weeks (3 to 4 months for an internship) and will be evaluated through a detailed written report and an oral presentation of this report.

Coursework and assessment

The programme lasts 1 year and is divided in 2 semesters, each comprising several courses units. Examinations are held through coursework:

  • Written exams from 1 hour to 3 hours
  • Practical exams from 2 hours to 3 hours

Exams are graded on a scale from 0 to 20, 20 being the best grade. To successfully complete a semester, you must have

  • An average grade of at least 10 points out of 20
  • An average grade of at least 8 points out of 20 in every course unit

If you have not completed your semester, you can retake the courses units you failed; you do not have to retake the courses in which you have obtained at least 10 points out of 20.

  • Conceive, implement and monitor automated control systems
  • Master methods and theoretical tools of conception and modelling in automated controls
  • Set up, programme and install automation devices (programmable logic controller, industrial regulators, human-computer interaction, industrial networks…)
