Study abroad

To obtain an engineering degree, you have to go abroad during your training, preferably in Year 3. The international mobility is compulsory, lasts 9 weeks in a work-study programme. As long as it is linked to the skills of an engineer in energy engineering, it can be done in various conditions:

  • Semester or year abroad
  • Gap year
  • Dual degree
  • Joint degree
  • Internship in a company or a laboratory

Whatever your project is, the university of Caen Normandy offers many partnerships and exchange programmes to go abroad (website in French)!

Learning outcome

By the end of this course, you will be able to

  • Manage a team and a project involving conception, installation and implementation of marine and earth renewable energies recovery in an international context
  • Conceive and implement transfer, storage and production solutions for marine and earth renewable energies
  • Master tools of 4.0 industry
  • Ensure the security of connected systems
  • Ensure the computer needs of the field are met

Further study

Once you’ve obtained your engineering degree, you can pursue your studies with:

  • A specialised Master’s programme or another engineering school
  • A doctorate and pursue doctoral studies in an academic laboratory or for an industry

Careers

Once you’ve completed engineering school, you can work as a scientific engineer specialised in, for instance:

  • Conception and implementation
  • Industry business
  • Project management

These specialities can apply in very diverse fields such as

  • Conventional and renewable energy industry
  • Consulting in research and development for decarbonised energy
  • Optimisation and energy solutions
